The technology which looks at your face
Do you have lots of different
passwords for your phone, bank account, emails and apps? It can be very difficult to remember them! A
new technology has the answer to this problem. “Facial Recognition Technology” looks at a
photo or video of your face and it knows your name, address, and telephone number. It knows because
every man and woman has a different face.
Today, some people already use this technology. The
police can look at photos of people in the street and they can find someone. At airports, the
technology looks at a passport photo and then at the person. And, in the future, banks want to look
at a people’s faces and check their identify. Hospitals want to look at people’s faces so
doctors can help people online. And some modern phones already use facial recognition technology for
security; when your phone looks at your face, you can use it.
